According to Sogliano, when excavated this corridor had walls decorated with painted plaster showing -
large panels with black background, frieze with white background and the low base of the wall painted red.
In the centre of each of the first two panels on the left, west side, were a bird with black background in a green frame.
In the centre of two other panels preserved on this same side, a flying swan and flying deer could be seen.
The panels were separated by yellow decorated stripes.
On the right, east side, the only one well-preserved panel showed a flying swan.

According to Wilhelmina, the low wall around the garden had an entrance in the west wall, which was approximately 0.80m high.
It was decorated with plants and flying birds painted on a red background.

According to Sogliano, this room had walls lined with rough plaster with a brick plinth.
A painting of two pairs of gladiators crudely executed was found on the south wall above the remains of white plaster, at the brick plinth height.
The one on the left consisted of a gladiator chasing his opponent.
Also found in this room were piles of building materials, which demonstrated that the house was undergoing repairs at the time of the disaster.
